Over the first half of 2016 much depends on the progress of the Housing and Planning Bill, which made the transition from the House of Commons to the House of Lords in January.

The Bill has proven contentious to date, particularly regarding its focus on home ownership rather than social housing. These are interesting times for planning legislation, and it remains to be seen how the Bill will evolve as it progresses through Parliament. Planning Design will monitor the progress of the Bill to ensure that its clients are properly advised on its implications.
