Planning & Design recently secured outline planning permission for a development of 2 dwellings in Belton, North Lincolnshire. The site adjoins residential development on two sides and the site layout plan showed how two dwellings can fit comfortably onto the plot. The proposal lies close to the services and amenities that Belton has to offer and will make beneficial use of an untidy and underused site, taking some pressure off open fields on the edges of towns and villages.
A number of objections were raised by neighbouring properties, particularly in relation to highway safety, amenity and impact on character. However, we were able to demonstrate that the proposal complied with all relevant policies and that, furthermore, small infill developments such as this are one of the best ways to maintain the vitality and viability of villages such as Belton. We look forward to seeing the site developed in due course.
